Our Story
Since 2003, Rocky Mountain Shutters, Shades & Closets has proudly served the Denver area with custom window treatments and storage solutions designed for Colorado homes. In 2020, my husband Quentin and I stepped into ownership, continuing the legacy my father established with a commitment to quality craftsmanship, personalized design, and exceptional service.
Having worked alongside my dad from the beginning, we understand the values that built this company—values of professionalism, integrity, and long-term client relationships. Today, we continue to serve homeowners throughout Denver, Cherry Creek, Centennial, Wheat Ridge, and Summit County with expertly designed window coverings and custom storage systems.
In 2024, we expanded our capabilities through the acquisition of Colorado Space Solutions, strengthening our expertise in custom closets, garage storage, pantry organization, and whole-home cabinetry. This growth allows us to offer a more comprehensive approach to organization and design while maintaining the personalized experience our clients expect.

Kristen Brown — Owner
Kristen Brown has been part of Rocky Mountain Shutters, Shades & Closets since its founding in 2003. After officially taking ownership in 2020, she has continued the company’s commitment to high-quality custom window treatments and storage solutions throughout the Denver metro area. Kristen oversees design standards, showroom operations, and customer experience, ensuring every project reflects the company’s reputation for professionalism and craftsmanship.
Quentin Brown — Co-Owner
Quentin Brown brings operational leadership and strategic growth to Rocky Mountain Shutters, Shades & Closets. Since 2020, he has helped expand the company’s capabilities, including the 2024 acquisition of Colorado Space Solutions. Quentin focuses on installation excellence, process efficiency, and maintaining the company’s long-standing commitment to customer satisfaction across Denver and surrounding communities.
Our Team
Marcie Donaldson — Showroom Manager
Since July 2011, Marcie has managed our three showrooms. She has been in the window covering industry for over 45 years and has experience in both sales and fabrication of window coverings. Her knowledge continues to grow daily as the industry changes. She thoroughly enjoys assisting customers in the showroom and excels in customer service.
Brittany Pearson — Office Manager
Brittany joined the team in 2010 with previous customer service experience. She takes pride in keeping an eye on the details to make sure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes for all of our window covering projects.
Lisa Smith — Showroom Assistant Manager
With a passion for helping customers find the perfect solutions for their homes, Lisa is committed to providing expert guidance, ensuring that every customer walks away with the best possible outcome. Lisa holds a BA in Virtual Technology and Design where she gained a strong foundation in creativity and technology. Her keen eye for design, combined with her problem-solving skills, makes her an invaluable resource to customers looking to enhance their living spaces with high-quality window coverings.
Lane Cummins — Window Treatment Specialist
Lane joined Rocky Mountain Shutters, Shades & Closets in 2018, coming to us from Nashville, TN. With close to a decade of real estate investment and DIY home renovation experiences, Lane is eager to assist with your next window covering project. As a Certified Hunter Douglas Consultant, Lane possesses the experience, creativity, and an eye for color to assist, and more importantly, to assure your satisfaction in the decision making process.
Suzanne Hayes — Window Treatment Specialist
Suzanne joined Rocky Mountain Shutters, Shades & Closets window covering professionals in 2019 as a Shop at Home Sales Associate. She joined our team with 16 years of prior sales experience with window coverings in the retail environment. She’s familiar with all aspects of window coverings from design and ordering, to installation and project coordination. Suzanne loves working one on one with customers to bring the vision for their home to life. As a Certified Hunter Douglas Consultant, she loves the quality and innovation that Hunter Douglas products provide for their clients and jumps at any opportunity to increase her product knowledge.
Amy Nozaki — Senior Design Specialist
With a degree in Interior Design and over ten years of experience specializing in closet design and custom cabinetry, Amy has developed a deep passion for helping clients create organized, functional, and beautiful spaces in their homes. Whether it’s maximizing storage or designing custom solutions tailored to individual needs, she loves transforming spaces to enhance both style and functionality.
Steven Ocken — Senior Design Specialist
Steven has been providing Colorado homeowners with garage floor coatings for over 20 years. Along the way, he began offering custom closets, as well as garage organization systems. He specializes in making spaces within homes perfect for daily use.
Kristen Johnson — Window Treatment Specialist
Kristen came to us as a custom closet and home organization specialist, through Colorado Space Solutions. She also has a strong background with Hunter Douglas window coverings and has been outfitting homes since 2018. She has a background in merchandising, retail and design—through careers at West Elm and J.Crew corporate offices in New York. She helps her clients with a deep understanding of textiles, color palette, personal curation and art history.
Taylor Stadler — Operations Manager
Taylor has been working in client installations since 2016. He started by assisting during window covering installations, progressed to an installation manager, and he is now the Operations Manager. He loves making the clients happy and strives for excellence every day.
Scott Johnson — Founder of Colorado Space Solutions
Scott founded Colorado Space Solutions in 2003. He worked in the closet and custom storage industry in the metro-Denver area for over 20 years. In 2024, Kristen and Quentin Brown purchased the company which now operates under the name, “Rocky Mountain Shutters, Shades & Closets.”
