ARCHED WINDOWS
Arched windows offer such a classic and timeless look. Architecturally, these are stunning! They can also become a pain if not treated right because it will lead to uncomfortable lighting, temperatures, and lack of privacy. What to do?
When it comes to arched windows, there are two options, either leaving the top portion open to the natural light, or covering the entire window. The choice is purely up to you and what you desire for that particular space. Leaving the top open helps to let the natural light flow in, but it will all be directed above the direct line of sight in order to not be bothersome even at the brightest time of day.
TILT TURN WINDOWS
We’re seeing a rise in popularity in this European window style: Tilt Turn. We are loving this style in just about every space, but they can be challenging to dress with window treatments. These windows allow you to easily bring the outdoors in and create an open and airy feeling throughout your home.

Transom windows do a gorgeous job of just this! However, we understand there are times when even transoms may be better covered with the right treatments in the name of light/heat control and privacy.
In the photo below, we see the tree offering some shade for this room which helps to keep it a comfortable temperature and atmosphere. The dark ceiling–a stunning feature–may darken the room slightly. Taking these aspects into consideration, the transoms are left bare to bring in the daylight available.
